Give a Saturday.
Build a league.
From 24 April 2027, 96 teams of boys and girls will play 550 matches at 32 grounds across the Eastern Cape. None of it happens without local people giving a few hours on a Saturday. We need at least 40 matchday volunteers — and more in the districts that are just getting started.
What you'll do
You won't do all of it. Each matchday team shares the work, and you choose what suits you.
Set up the ground
Goals, nets, corner flags and the touchline — with the venue team, before the first kick-off.
Run the team-sheet desk
Check each squad against its registered list before a match, so only registered players take the field.
Record the result
Enter the score on the League app at full time, so tables update the same afternoon.
Steward the touchline
Keep spectators behind the line, direct parking, and keep the children's areas calm and safe.
Look after players and officials
Water, shade and the first-aid box ready. Treatment itself is for qualified first-aiders only.
Help at kit handovers
Early in 2027, kit is handed over at schools and clubs in every district. Many hands help.

Half a day
A typical matchday shift is a morning or an afternoon.
Kit handovers
Early 2027, at schools and clubs in every district.
Especially needed in Nelson Mandela Bay and Chris Hani, where the League is just getting started. Volunteers there can help us reach the clubs and schools we haven't met yet.
Who can volunteer
- Anyone aged 18 or over who lives in or near one of the eight districts.
- A police clearance and a check against the National Child Protection Register, like every adult near a player. Not holding one yet does not rule you out — we'll help you apply.
- A phone that can open the League app, so you can see your Saturdays and record results.
- No football experience needed. Reliability matters more than knowing the offside rule.
